Hosting the Australian Space Summit 2026 (again!)
Alan Duffy
This week I have the privilege of hosting the Australian Space Summit 2026 in Sydney - now in its fifth(!) year and what a moment to be doing it.
We've just seen SpaceX achieve the largest public listing in history. Last year, global private investment in space hit a record. The money has arrived, and the question for Australia is simple: are we going to back ourselves and grow our industries to seize this moment, or watch it pass by and become customers of other nations' capabilities?
Over two days at the Hyatt Regency, I'll be MC'ing (for some reason the wonderful team at Space Connect trust my time-keeping despite years of evidence otherwise) and moderating panels on autonomy and AI, the launch economy, climate and disaster response, and the commercial future of our sector — bringing together government, industry, Defence, and our international partners to tackle the hard questions on sovereignty, investment, and where we go next.
It's shaping up to be our biggest year yet. If you're serious about Australia's place in space, this is the room to be in.
