Hawking is my PhD 'great-grandad'
Alan Duffy
This is hilarious but there's a website that academics can track their PhD 'genealogy' and see their PhD supervisors (blue lines, the green are postdoc supervisors, i.e. bosses). According to phdtree my supervisor Professor Richard Battye (in phdtree this is my 'father') had a PhD supervisor Professor Edward Scott (my 'grandfather') who was in turn supervised by none other than Prof Stephen Hawking (my 'great-grandfather'). Absolutely meaningless of course but a laugh all the same, check out yours at phdtree.org
