A soaking gun of water on Mars - ABC Breakfast News TV

NASA promised a "Mars Mystery Solved" in a world-wide press conference, and they didn't disappoint. Flowing water had been found on the surface of the arid red planet. For years we had seen dark streaks forming down the sides of craters during Mars warmer seasons with the hope that these were water flows. By finding hydrated (water-bearing) salts in these streaks we've now confirmed it. Earth is no longer the only planet we know of to have liquid water on its surface. What this means for ET isn't clear but for decades NASA has "followed the water" as on Earth where there's water, there's life.
